Description
Chinese–Han Dynasty, 206 BCE-206 AD. A hollow molded pottery figure wearing a disc-type headdress and knee-length-robe tied around his waist. Holding a ceremonial staff in his left hand. Mineral and earthen deposits on the surface. Size: 23-5/8" H. Provenance: New York Trade, 2008 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original documents included
