Description
Joan Crawford's Personally Owned 1950s Monogrammed Brown Faux Fur Coat From The Sydney Guilaroff Collection W/Notarized Letter of Provenance - This brown faux fur coat was personally owned by one of the greatest female stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema, Joan Crawford. The coat has a slightly cropped design with a rope belt at the waist and "JC" monogrammed into the inside lining. The coat comes with a notarized letter of provenance from famed Hollywood hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff, which states in part, "Joan gave me this short cropped medium brown faux fur jacket with rope style belt tie and her initials 'JC' on the inside lining to add to my collection. No one has worn it since Joan." Sydney Guilaroff was a hair stylist during Hollywood's Golden Age who was the first to receive on-screen credit in films. He worked for more than forty years at the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios on more than a thousand films, and was instrumental in crafting many of the hairstyles which became the signature looks for numerous film stars. Guilaroff was a friend, stylist, and confidante to many Golden Age stars including Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn.
