A Nepalese Gilt Bronze Figure of Buddha Shakyamuni
14th/15th Century
十四/十五世紀 尼泊爾銅鎏金釋迦牟尼坐像
the Buddha figure cast seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, his hands in bhumisparsa mudra, wearing a draped robe, the face bearing a calm expression flanked by long pendulous ear lobes, his hair in tight curls surmounted by an ushnisha.
Height 6 7/8 in., 17.5 cm.

Condition
In stable condition, with expected rubbing and surfaces scratches. The reverse showing pierced holes likely for a missing mandala backing. The lotus throne cast as two parts, and swiveling. Missing the gilt base plate, reversing oxidized metal with patination.
