Very happy with purchase
Shipping cost can be a concern; their recommended shipper did a very good job at a reasonable cost.

Disappointed in getting my auction item
Wouldn’t accept my credit card. Had a hassle getting shipper to pick up paid item. Too many other auctions to bother with them again. Sorry, not usually a complainer.

Good product, very bad consignment experience...
Being that I had a very good buying experience with Farber, I thought I might try them for consigning. As an antique and fine jewelry dealer for over 22 years, I’ve amassed many fine, platinum, diamond, gold pieces … A few that I’ve had for awhile I decided to take a chance with Farber. I sent them 20 pieces of jewelry with a wholesale value of $11, 000. What happened next is shocking. The day they were received, the owner called me to say that ‘ not one of the items was up to their high standard, and I will be returning all of them.” When I pointed out that among the items sent, one was a pair of 2.00 CT diamond earrings. The owner replied, “okay we can accept those”. Really? So, let me get this straight: Isn’t the auction/consignment business one where consignors are valued (without them there is no business)? And since when do persons in this line of work pick and choose only the choicest pieces and tell clients that your stuff is not up to their high calibre? Not once in my 22 years of consigning have, I ever heard this. Most auction houses scramble and compete to get good inventory … I, was at a minimum, taken aback, then angry and asked that ALL OF MY ITEMS be returned immediately. To that the owner replied, “make your own arrangements to get your items back”. Huh? You can’t even afford postage? But you dole out free insults? I’ve personally never been more insulted, and I thought that others should be aware of their unscrupulous and unprofessional business practices.
